Our Smoking Tradition
Not Your Grandpa's Grill opened their doors in Boston, Massachusetts with one goal: bring authentic barbecue to people who appreciate real smoking techniques. Our pitmaster, Chief Emmanuel Emont , spent 20 years perfecting his craft across the Texas and Kansas City scenes before bringing his unique approach to our little corner of the world.
What makes us different? We don't cut corners. Every piece of meat is hand-selected, dry-rubbed with our proprietary spice blend, and slow-smoked with a mix of hickory and apple woods. No liquid smoke, no shortcuts, no compromises.
